Step 1: Access Content Manager

-
Log into your Modern Office portal. https://cms.themodernofficecompany.com/admin/auth/login
-
Navigate to the Content Manager option on the left sidebar.
Step 2: Understand Content Collections

- In Content Manager, you’ll find three types of collections: Layers, Models, and Tags.
- Focus on Layers for organizing your content. Models are typically preset by your administrator, and Tags are a more advanced topic covered in separate documentation.
Step 3: Create a Layer

- Layers act like file folders for grouping related content. When you build Inks you can choose whether to include or exclude certain layers. This can be to provide better tailored training to the model, but it can also serve a purpose of restricting certain content from a security perspective.
- Click on the option to create a new layer.

- Name your layer appropriately.
- For Layer Context provide a detailed description for the layer, explaining the type of context it contains. This helps the system understand the context of your content. Imagine you were handing this file folder to a human. What would you say to them to help them understand the content?
Step 4: Manage Secure Data

- Decide whether the content in a block is secure data. Secure data is not directly outputted by the model; it’s only used for learning.
- If your content is sensitive or you don’t want it to be directly used in outputs, mark it as secure. Otherwise, set this to false.
Step 5: Add Blocks to Your Layer

-
Within a layer, blocks serve as subdivisions for your content, similar to individual documents within a folder. Blocks are simply one or more document.
- Create a new block within your layer. Give it a name and context. This context is in addition to the layer context. Think of it as sitting beside someone and taking them through the content. When you get to this document what would you tell them?
- Blocks help organize documents that share a similar context, making it easier for the system to process and utilize the content.
Step 6: Upload Documents to Blocks
- Add documents to your blocks by selecting Add New Assets. You can upload individual or multiple files at once.
- Once they are uploaded be sure to select the files you want to attach to this block.

Step 7: Attach Blocks to the Model

- Once your blocks are ready, attach them to the relevant model in the system. Typically, you will have one main model to select.
Step 8: Save and Publish
- After setting up your layers and blocks, save your configurations.
- To make the content available for the model to use, click on Publish. If you’re not ready to make the content live, you can leave it in draft form to continue editing.
Final Notes
- Tags and additional settings can be adjusted later and are not covered in this basic tutorial.
- All of these settings can be tweaked and re-processed by the model if you need to change them later.
- If you need assistance or have questions, support is available to help you navigate the Modern Office and Digital Ink system.
By following these steps, you can effectively organize and upload your training content to the Digital Ink system, enabling it to learn from and utilize your materials for various digital experiences.
